e2e extends emergency recovery service to support the nation’s key workers during Coronavirus pandemic

e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management [e2e] has adapted its services to respect the government’s clear instruction on March 23rd for people to stay at home ‘to save lives and protect the NHS’.

With effect from the close of business on Friday 27th March 2020, members making up the UK’s largest salvage network will no longer collect total loss vehicles on behalf of e2e clients, in order to keep their staff safe and reflect the national goal to reduce the spread of Coronavirus and control the demand on stretched NHS resources.  In tandem, and to support the nation’s vital key workers, e2e has partnered with two leading roadside recovery agents, currently classified by the government as essential services, who can and will collect and deliver priority total loss vehicles to member sites in the e2e network.  Member sites will be storing vehicles free of charge until restrictions are lifted and normal business can be resumed.

Under this new Emergency Recovery Assistance service, priority vehicles are classified as those relating to key workers or those which are distressed or abandoned or accruing storage charges. Vehicles located at home addresses or parked in free storage will not qualify for this service and normal collections by the e2e network will resume once government restrictions have been lifted.

e2e has suspended all auction activity temporarily to ensure the best returns for clients and to protect staff and the public.  Existing e2e network vehicles listed at auction will be removed by 27th March.  The company has also implemented new processes to enable the network to track vehicles infected or potentially infected by COVID-19 in order to minimize the risk to others.  Head office staff are working remotely to continue to provide support services.

e2e Chief Operating Officer, Neil Joslin, said: “The Coronavirus pandemic is unprecedented and the e2e network is united and committed to playing its part in the UK recovery by following the government’s instructions.  We are a service provider and proud of the service we provide in usual and sometimes unusual circumstances.  We will do all we can to reduce unnecessary risk to our people and our clients and to help stop the virus spreading.  To do otherwise would be irresponsible at best.  Needless to say, we are maintaining regular communication with clients, our network members, staff and suppliers throughout these challenging times.  ”

Taken from Insurance Times:

Former group chief executive at insurance software organisation OpenGI, Chris Guillaume, has been appointed as a non-executive director at salvage network business e2e Total Loss Vehicle Management.

Guillaume has 30 years of experience in the UK and European software development industry, specialising in the insurance market. He has previous held technology-centric roles at GUS and Misys, before becoming the chief executive of private equity-backed general insurance software house OpenGI in 2007.

In this role, following a management buyout, he expanded the company into Europe, growing revenues to more than £60m. He became a non-executive director for OpenGI in July 2019.

Pastures new

Guillaume said of his appointment: “e2e is a bold, dynamic organisation and its proactive approach to innovation is inspiring. The plan to unlock additional commercial potential for insurers within the salvage and recycling process is an exciting opportunity to expertly harness the latest technologies and will see e2e continue to break new ground and deliver market leading performance.

“We will also be exploring enhanced market intelligence and customer journey initiatives. I understand the dynamics of a membership-led network from my time managing OpenGI and I will be drawing on this, together with my insurance industry and commercial experience, to work with the team, realise the business goals and redefine the insurance industry salvage partner.”

Neil Joslin, chief operating officer at e2e, added: “We mean to be the salvage partner of choice for insurers and raise the performance bar across our market practice. In building an executive board that brings together decades of insurance market decision maker and supply chain experience, matched by salvage operator expertise, we are equipped with unique insight to positively disrupt the industry.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Chris on board and look forward to his insight and guidance as we drive our business strategy forward.”

e2e upgrades its premier online auction platform SalvageMarket

e2e is upgrading its salvage auction platform, SalvageMarket.co.uk. The platform has grown into arguably the premier online marketplace to sell vehicle salvage from the UK since its development in 2010. The upgraded platform will run on the latest technology and offers improved functionality to users as well as an even more secure environment.

All current bidders and vehicles will seamlessly transition to the upgraded platform from Monday 18th November and the existing platform will shut down one week later with the transition completed. The upgrade to the auction platform represents e2e’s ongoing strategy of investment in its service proposition aligned to its goal of redefining salvage standards across the market.

Neil Joslin, COO of e2e explains: “In terms of usage processes it will be ‘business as usual’ on the new auction platform. However, bidders can expect to experience a positive improvement to their user experience when visiting the site and we anticipate continued strong salvage prices as a result of this upgrade. We’ve worked successfully with DH Systems on this platform for many years and continue to do so. The upgraded website will continue to be powered by the most progressive vehicle salvage operators throughout the UK, consisting of the members of NSA (Ventures) Ltd and NSG Ltd, both part of the e2e Group.”

e2e donates money towards local school biodome

e2e recently donated £500 towards the opening of the North East’s first ever Biodome, based at St Mary’s Primary School in Newton Aycliffe. Yesterday Rob and Sophie from e2e Head Office went along to the opening of the day for the Biodome. It was lovely to see that our money has gone to such a fantastic project, enabling children to get out of the classroom and learning outdoors by growing their own plants, fruit and veg.
