e2e FNOL Matrix

We have halved insurers recovery and storage costs with our newly extended, fixed fee Emergency Recovery Assistance service. We're 24/7, on the road within 90 mins of instruction and will deliver to a member of our salvage network or an insurer's appointed repair. To determine if the vehicle is a total loss or repairable at FNOL, we have developed the proven 'e2e FNOL Matrix' for use by claims handlers or instruction can be automatically integrated with existing artificial intelligence systems. Insights: UK Salvage Market Remains Strong After Covid-19

Our COO, Neil Joslin writes an in-depth view of the performance of the salvage market set against the backdrop of Covid-19 for Insurance-Edge.Net In the UK we are fortunate that insurers have the opportunity to adopt different approaches according to their strategy and market conditions in order to realise maximum salvage value. This is because some salvage partners focus on the resale of vehicles, while others can provide options including resale or, breakdown for reclaimed parts and scrap metal. ILC Motor Supply Chain Q&A

I Love Claims Motor Claims Supply Chain Q&A - our COO Neil Joslin confirms that #e2e is working with insurer clients to ensure joint contingency plans are in place in the event of a second wave of COVID19, drawing on the learning gained to date. He anticipates demand for e2e's quality tested, warranty assured reclaimed parts could also increase further if the motor claims supply chain faces a second wave which further affects parts availability. https://lnkd.in/d57P9VU #contingencyplanning #collaboration #reclaimedparts

Market insight

New RAC research shows that vehicles are now doing twice the weekly distance they were covering at the end of March. With the easing of restrictions the motoring organisation research shows that this weekend drivers will make an estimated three million trips to see their nearest and dearest, with around 1.9 million of those being made on Saturday and the remainder on Sunday. https://lnkd.in/dt9ZYrR

Our data for total loss instructions during the pandemic mirrors the RAC’s findings. Year on year, March saw a 12% drop in volumes, April 62% and May 57% reflecting reduced road usage during lockdown. As restrictions have been eased during May, we can see the resulting rise in total loss instructions: the last week in May saw a 40% increase on the first week in May. The graph below shows the period 1/5/20 – 4/6/20.

Please let us know if this insight is helpful - we have a wealth of data and management information that can provide market intelligence?

Our salvage and recycling network, comprising 50 compliant sites across the country is fully operational and supporting our clients as motor claims and total loss incidents increase.

Burnt out vehicles

Industry fears about an increase in fraudulent 'burnt out' motor claims, related to the COVID19 pandemic and associated economic hardship, saw us monitoring the situation closely throughout lockdown to keep our insurer clients informed. Our data shows an increase of almost 100% for approximately 4-5 weeks from the start of lockdown with levels more recently returning to a normal rate. The below graph depicts Category A 'burnt out' vehicles based on % of total instructions received over the period.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

Today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week with its theme being 'Kindness'. With people working remotely and others adapting to being furloughed, the potential for anxiety and loneliness during these unusual times is heightened and a simple act of kindness can go a long way towards brightening someone's day. We would like to thank our Mental Health First Aiders who are doing a great job of virtually checking in on staff and making sure everyone feels connected and supported. https://lnkd.in/gvcpB2d

Post COVID-19

Post Covid-19 the world will have changed requiring new thinking. We believe ‘New World’ might see different claim frequencies, more pressure on costs, reduced repair capacity and changes to parts supply chains. The winners in this environment will innovate and create a motor claims ecosystem that includes reclaimed parts and salvage in a more integrated manner than ‘Old World’. Could the pandemic be the catalyst to end the inertia filled master/slave relationship in the supply chain and see the emergence of a flexible supply chain whose participants share the goals of insurers, working in true partnership for the benefit of the customer and to achieve reduced costs?  https://lnkd.in/ewDkj3T

ARC360 webinar

Our COO, Neil Joslin, welcomed the opportunity to share his thoughts on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on insurers and the insurance supply chain on yesterday’s ARC360 Webinar, to include the insight that scrap metal which, in a fair market sells for £90-£100 per tonne had, at its worst point, dropped to £25 per tonne and the repercussions this brings. Collaboration was high on Neil’s agenda throughout the discussions. To access the recording click here https://lnkd.in/edvJnMy and the published overview here https://lnkd.in/eHtdUUT

Pandemic Response Steering Group

Fantastic to see this initiative and collaborative approach being taken to help the insurance industry to improve its response to future pandemics. Much learning continues to be gained right across the industry with the current pandemic. As the steering group becomes established and expands, would it be valuable to incorporate key leaders in the supply chain which is integral to the industry's ability to respond to claims effectively? https://lnkd.in/e4fvAvt #COVID19UK #pandemicresponse #supplychain #collaboration

Total loss claims in the pandemic

Jeremy Trott, NED of the Society of Claims Professionals suggests total loss cases require consideration during the COVID-19 pandemic and urges insurers to 'assess the likelihood of a new vehicle being sourced at the moment, rendering payouts useless.’ We think total loss cases also require consideration outside of lockdown. Typically total loss cases represent 20-24% of motor insurance claims and result in a lost customer. But what if insurers could avoid categorising a vehicle a total loss by offering the policyholder the option of using e2e's quality assured, warranty covered reclaimed parts to reduce repair costs? The insurer keeps the customer, the customer keeps their vehicle and the environment benefits from vehicle recycling. https://lnkd.in/e_eVCaq #totalloss #motorclaims #customerretention #reclaimedparts
